The idea for the low-key Club was hatched at a chance meeting between Dick Hodge and Alex Harris at the Stafford Classic Bike Show in May 1991. They set themselves a target of recruiting over 50 members during the next 18 months - They didn't know how many of these bikes had survived - The Club still does not know how many there are! Currently the Club has details of over 150 owners and continues to meet more owners that they have not heard about the Club! So the original target has been surpassed and we still wonder how many more bikes may be still lurking 'out there'..?

The Club highlights thus far have been:
- May 1992: First meeting at the NEC Motorcycle Museum -11 owners present.
- June 1992: Feature article in Japanese Bikes magazine  -Alex's phone is red hot with owners wanting to join!
- June 1993 and every year since we have held regular meetings at the IoM TT.
any club members present plus overseas owners as far away as Switzerland, USA and Australia.
- July 1993: Superb weekend at a hotel in Builth Wells, Wales.
- February 1994: First AGM with over thirty owners present Aug 1994 Cadwell Park track day.
We joined with the Laverda Owners Club for a great day out.
- October 1995: Road Test feature in Fast Classics magazine.
- June 1998: Ron Haslam becomes our Honorary President.
- June 1999: Ron Haslam rides Dick Hodge' RD in the TT Honda Parade.
- June 1999: Glenn and Dick both get rides on the TT Parade Lap.
- June 2002: Dick Hodge rides the TT Parade Lap again.
- June 2002: 45 Owners and their bikes meet at Burg Greifenstein in Germany.

We are simply a bunch of enthusiastic owners who want to gain the maximum enjoyment from our bikes and they look fantastic when a number are parked together.

Owning and riding an 1100R can be summarised as:
- One of Honda's best-designed & built machines with a racing pedigree.
- Superb looking machine & admiring glances from others confirm this view.
- Brilliant performance - acceleration, roadholding and ...brakes (?)
- Comfortable riding position for both rider (and pillion RC/RD only!)
- No depreciation - probably rising in value.
- Cheap classic insurance resulting in a really practical bike to own.
