Not 100% sure how much longer I will be living in Qld, So took the opportunity to get a full custom made(RB engine in an RD frame) replica 4 into 2 black ceramic coated exhaust system made and fitted to my RD by Peter @ motorcycle exhaust professionals in Brisbane.
Saw his work on a CB900 a few weeks ago and the welds were brilliant. The last 1100R system he made was 5 years ago. So rode the 100klm down to his workshop last Wednesday and left the old girl with him, and a few tears, as I started the 4 hour bus/train home.
Recieved a call today, ready for pick-up friday and apparently looks amazing.
Full price $A1750, which I think is reasonable.Pictures will be posted early next week : )

Cheers GregWell, picked up the beast on Monday, and as many of you can see its far from replica. I think these bikes are becoming so rare that many forget what original actually look like. Slightly disappointed, but its far better than the crumbling chrome 4 into 1 that was on it when I first purchased it years ago.

Well I think that looks rather nice John. An exact reproduction of the original system is almost impossible for a price that is justifiable for most mortals. The most important thing is that another of these great bikes is getting looked after and enjoyed by its owner.
Thanks Andy for your kind comments. I think it actually looks good too, with a serious growl that lets you know your not riding a sewing machine.

Hi All,
my first post, and my main reason for re-joining the club. I was wondering, what actually are the options with regard to replacing/repairing the std. exhaust on an RD ? Mine has split (due to internal rust) at the weld near the foot-peg. Not visible, but I imagine that when I restart the old girl, it will either be loud, or will just get worse.
I remember years ago an article in the magazine (then) about replacement options, and possible “ceramic coating” etc., but wanted to know what the options were now.
I definitely don’t wont to lose the fairing lower, and don’t really want a “four-into-two-into-one”.
I do have a second full system, which when last I saw it, was poorly in the black chrome department, but I haven’t been in the attic to see if it too has been eaten by internal rust. I understand that “black chrome” is a no-no now, especially if I were to suggest re-chroming a used system.
Suggestions gratefully received.

I have fitted a pair of the London Exhaust silencers to my RC as part of the winter rebuild, they are nicely made, and i started the bike this afternoon and they have a nice bark

The Ceramic coating is available in either Matt black or Gloss black, therefore should be suitable for all models.Trev
