Anyone interested in coming down to the south coast to visit the Brighton speed trials in September?
Just an initial feeler for now but I have been in East Sussex for 3 years now and have yet to visit this large event, only 25 mins. away from me.
If your interested in anything with a engine you will have a great day out.You could spend the whole day at the event and of course Brighton itself or maybe some of you might like to make a weekend of it and have a ride out on some of the Sussex lanes and lunch on the coastal downs.
If you think you might like to come down I would be happy to act as a focal point, hotels, B&B’s etc and work out a nice 60 to 70 mile ride ending up at a place called Beachy Head or one of the lovely bike friendly pubs for lunch.
One such pub has some nice cars always parked up in the gardens, Porsches, Cosworth Escorts, rally cars and the odd Ducati.The Speed trials are widely advertised on the web, it would be best if everyone bought their own tickets if you want to view from the fenced off areas, £10 I think or just turn up, park and enjoy the extremely good public access.

Graham… may be interested to come over, however I currently have difficulty arranging things for next week let alone for Autumn so I’ll have to get into summer mode first to see what my committments are. In general though YES… interested.

As you say the event is a while away. My main objective was to see the reaction to an event just about as far south as it is possible to go.
I think the majority of our membership is midlands and above but they are not often offered any hospitality down our way…….times are changing, hopefully.
Hi Graham. I have been 3 or 4 times. Also there, is Brightona on the 9th of October 2011, which is in aid of the Sussex Heart Charity. This is a real bikeaholics event and attended by tens of thousands. Both these events are brilliant and well worth going. It is my intention to attend both, so would be good to meet up, with others too. I live in Bexhill on Sea, on the south coast.
Hi James, thanks for the reply. I am in Eastbourne. I am going up to the Stafford show on the 14th of October so probably wont make Brightona but have every intention of getting to the speed trials. Lets keep in touch via here and see how many we can persuade to visit for some southern hospitality.
