i noticed on the other main honda site that a couple of people are after r seat units…..as mead speed no longer make them it seems supply has dried up…..:(it just so happens a friend of mine has a company suppling carbon parts…:D..he would need a template for the mould to be made…which i would sacrifice my own….and it’s a three month wait for them to be made…..doh…i’ve had some bits for my tl1000 of him,and they’re great quality:D…so there’s a possible group buy if there’s enough people want to commit…they should come in at around £200 a piece…..i’m not going to make any profit…so if the cost 150 then that’s what you pay:)

What sort of quantity to you think he’d need to make it worthwhile Carl ? Do you think your mate could make a replica… that is a part that is faithfull in detail so as to make it
close to indescernable from the original. Mead Speed made fairings but lacked attention to details such as the thickened and rolled edges, and the fibre matting wasn’t the fine
weave material as in the originals. I have a Mead Speed RC fairing and they’re pretty flimsy compared to the real thing.

The topic of getting replica bodywork made up has been discussed a number of times by the UK and Swedish Clubs so I would certainly put this up for further discussion with the Committee. If your friend is a specialist who can do this it would give us an avenue to investigate further.

Carl, I thing copying a Meadspeed would be a mistake. We would be duplicating their errors. I have spare RC/RD seat unit we could use as a mould. I’m sure we can also come
up with an RB unit to copy too!

Carl, I think Steve has a good point here, if you are working on a copy of the seat unit then to use a genuine unit would make a better copy. Since the RC/RD unit will fit all models and offers a pillion seat it may also generate more interest.
