Took the battery off to check it over and charge it.
put it back on and no ignition nothing when starter pressed. Neutral light off as well.

But lights, indicators horn etc all functioning.

checked fuses on steering yoke and all look ok.

what have I missed.

I checked that. But read your message and thought better just checks it again. Guess what ? It wasn’t in neutral.

problem lies between keyboard and seat.

A friend of mine had a similar issue on his 400/4 and called out the roadside rescue. He didn ‘t do it again.
