    Hi,

The temp gauge slowly goes to max reading with just turning the key on.

Does anyone know if there are temp gauges and oil temperature sensors available.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks
    Vince

Vince, the temp sensor is on the gear change lever side about 200mm forward from the gear change lever. Check the wire connection to the sensor or replace the sensor itself with peripheral tape on the thread.

Thank you for replying John. I am going to check the wiring as well.

Found the wire from the sensor going under the starter cover was pinched. It had been repaired at some point in the past. Temp gauge working fine now.

Thanks for pointing me in right direction.

Thats good Vince and makes sense. If the guage wasnt working it would mean an open circuit, bad connection. But since it was reading max, it means a short circuit, shorted to earth.

looks like thats a common problem, I had a fault with my oil light circuit due to loom being pinched by starter cover
