    Just completed my R jigsaw.

Released in the 80’s, this 500 piece jigsaw is a nice piece of R memorabillia, and very difficult.

Maybe others have some great R memorabillia around the house!

I got my puzzle from a Blue Peter charity sale many years ago and had it framed.

John. Although it states 500 piece on the box it’s 520 pieces. No wonder it’s difficult!

Trevor, 520 pieces instead of 500….another Honda myth exposed  I framed mine as well….It drove me crazy sometimes. Took days to do and I was considering emailing Wout for his expertise with some pieces.
    Looks awesome though!

John. Some more R memorabilia I have from the 1980’s is a couple of posters. One is a Metzeler poster with Ron Haslam the other is a Honda poster but I’m not sure who the rider is ?

    Great posters Trevor.

I have also seen a kids school CB1100R pencil case. Just for the really cool kids I guess!

Thanks to EBay I’ve finally managed to get original Honda brochures for the British market RB RC and RD. I’ve only got a copy of the Australian RB but I’m sure these brochures are even more rare than the bikes.

The Metz poster is great and I am also fortunate to have one of these.

Re. the other poster. In 1981 Jean-Francois Lecureux along with racing partner Jean-Luc Maurel won the Bol D’Argent at Montlhery on a CB1100RB. The Bol D’Argent (Silver Bowl) was an endurance event for amateur riders run along the lines of the more famous Bol D’Or event. I have an original large French produced poster of Lecureux on the winning RB.

Lecureux then did some promotional work for Honda for the then new for 1982 RC. The poster that Trevor has shown is one piece of R memorabilia produced from that photo shoot. Another similar picture taken on the same day from a slightly different angle was also turned into an even more difficult to come by item and presented to some of the people working for Honda Britain at the time to celebrate Honda’s victory in the Streetbike Championship series. This item is a stainless steel framed shot of Lecureux on the RC that also contains a built in clock. How many were produced I do not know. Not many I would suspect.
I was lucky enough to obtain one of these clocks from an ex Honda Britain mechanic about 22 years ago when I was buying some other R spares from him. He gave me also, an HRC sticker that was produced to celebrate the Streetbike success. Again very rare.

I have a couple of other large promotional R posters that do not crop up often, if at all these days. I did intend to get them all framed but never quite got round to it yet. I will have a dig through them all some time in the near future and put up some pictures for all who may be interested, including some of the clock.

For any of you aficionados of the marque, like myself, that collect R memorabilia, here are a few more posters that were produced along with the clock given to some Honda UK staff to celebrate the R’s success.

The Castrol 6 Hour is one of my favourites and is the only one I have seen come up for sale in over 25 years of R ownership. The Honda advertisment with Haslam on the RB was printed as normal pages in several UK bike magazines of the times but was also produced as a large double sided poster for the 1982 TT races, as shown here.
Could only embed 4 shots in the post but if you click on the thumbnails you will see a few more posters .
